Conspiracy Theories

I hate to jump on the 9/11 bandwagon with this (if a little late), but I liked the video, and I particularly love the Johnny Cash version of 'Run On' used at the end.

I must say I find conspiracy theories alluring. They're so dramatic, and make life more exciting. they're incredibly seductive - make you feel as if you're helping guard the last bastion of truth, that you're involved in some kind of righteous fight.

Do I believe that 9/11 was a government cover up? I can't really say. The amount of evil that we have committed as a species is horrible, there's certainly enough precedence for it. And the convenient way it allowed us to go to war was certainly incentive.

However at the same time, it's a big claim. I'm interested to know, in 50, 100, 1000 years time, what will history say about the whole ordeal?

In other news, I've started a new band, expect some details soon. Some work I've been doing will be posted soon.

The Shock Doctrine by Naomi Klein is a really good read. Her take on it is that Governments (especially the US) take advantage of, or even engineer, major disasters to sweep in and pass certain laws or even take a country's natural resources while they are still reeling from the shock.
